I created the concept of the good mother toolkit, while asking myself :
« How do we create moments to meet people and try to make friends in a fun and tasty way when you are new in town ? »

Through a dinner divination session, the good mother (the person new in town) draws ingredient cards and prepares a portrait-soup for the taster (the potential new friend). Around the ingredients, an exchange takes place between the two protagonists. Nostalgia and memories are essential components of the meal.

J’ai créé le concept de la bonne mère et son kit d’outil en me posant la question : « Comment peut-on faire connaissance avec des personnes et créer un moment d’échange à la fois ludique et goûtu, lorsque nous venons tout juste d’emménager dans un nouvel environnement ? »

À travers une séance de divination dinatoire, la bonne mère (la personne qui vient d’emménager) tire des cartes-ingrédients et prépare une soupe-portrait pour le goûteur (la potientielle nouvelle amie). Autour des ingrédients, un échange s’opère entre les deux protagonistes. Nostalgie et souvenir sont des composants incontournables du repas.

The good set up for a dinner divination

I designed a whole set of deck of cards inspired by the tarot game. The cards are at the same time the ingredients of the soup-portrait to be prepared but also initiators of subject conversations to get to know the taster. I also created a roman-photo (photo-novel) to explain the process of a dinner divination session.

The challenge here was to find a narrative through the cards and initiate a conversation out of it.
